Compensation
& Payment
It is your responsibility to contact the health insurer in advance, so that you have clarity about the costs before an assistance program is started. Questions that are good to ask include:
- What percentage do they reimburse per call and what amount?
- In principle, an hourly rate has been set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZA), but many health insurers charge a different rate, which is lower than that of the NZA. (See heading rates for an overview).
- Is there a maximum amount or number of sessions that they will reimburse for the entire process?
- Is there a personal contribution and/or will the deductible be used?
- Do you have to officially request permission from the health insurer to provide uncontracted care? And how should you do that?
- In that case, there is often a form that must be completed and submitted.
- Are there any other requirements for me as a practitioner or for my working method or the form of therapy?

Payment
For care provided to clients aged 18 and over, the invoice will be sent to you. You can then submit the invoice to the health insurer. Depending on your health policy, this will pay out the entire amount or part of it. The remaining amount is yours to pay. For this I refer back to the treatment agreement in which this arrangement is included and to which you have agreed by signing.
Clients who pay themselves will also receive the invoice directly. For clients under the age of 18 who use financing through the municipality, invoices are submitted directly to the municipality.
No show
The treatment agreement states that an appointment must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance. A message received during the weekend (by telephone or email) also counts as a timely message, provided it was sent/left more than 24 hours in advance. If you do not cancel the appointment on time, but within 24 hours before it was due to take place, you will be charged an amount of β¬60. This bill cannot be submitted to the health insurer and you must pay it yourself.
